KineticFrame, Discover The Tech Within

KineticFrame, Discover The Tech Within

The JOOLA Pro V Paddle Collection has arrived, powered by our latest innovation, the patent-pending KineticFrame technology. Inspired by the performance engineering behind hockey sticks and golf clubs, KineticFrame is designed to flex with intention and recover naturally at impact.

“Moving from Pro IV to Pro V, our focus was on redesigning the structure at the throat of the paddle to introduce more flexibility, but in a way that stayed controlled and intentional,” commented Austin Kim, JOOLA’s Head of Pickleball Product, “It's not just about how much it flexes, but how it flexes and how it returns to the original state. The goal was to achieve a flexibility that enhances feel, spin, stability, and precision without sacrificing power for the player.”

In the sections below, we’ll explore down how the KineticFrame was engineered, help you understand the technology within, and how you can apply that to your game.

Structure Alteration

To create the desired flex effect, team JOOLA started by re-engineering the paddle frame at the throat. After testing the pivot point at multiple locations on the paddle, they determined the throat provided the most controlled and efficient flex. By creating a slimmer frame and reinforcing it with carbon fiber, our engineers were able to achieve a dual pivot design. To complete the design, an additional layer of carbon fiber was added to increase the overall durability of the paddle for extended play.

Unlike traditional paddles that bend at the neck and create a “diving-board” effect, KineticFrame keeps the paddle head square to the ball throughout contact. The result is controlled recoil, a more stable feel, and shots that stay consistent and predictable, no matter your swing speed.

“When developing KineticFrame, we looked beyond pickleball to sports that had already mastered energy transfer through kick-point technology, particularly golf and hockey," said Fabio Kachiwazaki, Head of R&D at JOOLA. “Studying how those sports engineered flex and stored energy inspired us to create a system that loads and releases momentum efficiently, translating and adapting that same principle into a paddle design tailored for modern pickleball.”

Technology Breakdown

Inspired by kick-point engineering in hockey sticks and golf clubs, the KineticFrame is built to flex and recover during impact.

Unlike traditional paddles with "diving-board" neck flex, the KineticFrame uses a proprietary flex-point architecture that allows the paddle head to move parallel to its original position.

Dual-pivot design produces a translational motion which delivers:

  • Predictable & Repeatable Exit Trajectory: Ensures shots go where you aim, giving better control and setup for rallies.
  • Uncapped, Precise Power: Hit hard without sacrificing accuracy, letting you attack confidently from any position.
  • Reduced Launch-Angle Deviation: Keeps shots consistent even on off-center hits, reducing unforced errors.
  • Faster Snapback for Rapid Exchanges: Recover quickly between shots, maintaining competitiveness at the net.
  • Improved Energy Transfer Efficiency: Maximizes power with less fatigue for longer rallies and controlled drives.

KineticFrame, and How it Plays

Thus far, we've explored the origins of the KineticFrame and how our engineers brought their concept to life, but the real question is: how does it play?

As swing speed increases, the frame loads and releases energy back into the ball. The Pro V’s flex allows the face to stay stable for cleaner contact, more pop, and precision during aggressive attacks. The frame reloads quickly, keeping you ready for rapid exchanges and controlling the pace of play.

  • Responsive Shots | Resets, Dinks: Incoming pace is absorbed in a controlled motion, allowing you to hold paddle position, control the ball, and place shots with confidence.
  • Spin: Extended ball contact increases dwell, letting you shape, dig, and curve shots like no other paddle.
  • Increased Durability without Sacrificing Performance: Additional carbon fiber between the Propulsion Core and Polypropylene Honeycomb Core boosts strength while maintaining feel.
